"Why is it that borders and nationality, and not freedom, shape the identity of most of the people on this planet?"

With this question in mind photographer Ines Kotarac started her photo project "Drops against Oblivion" in Berlin, where she currently lives, travelling all the way through the Balkans to Istanbul.

Originally from Bosnia and Hercegovina, Ines Kotarac started her journey in order to find the link of the histories between Berlin and Istanbul and the many spots in between to which her country of origin belongs to.

Hoping to find a home somewhere on her journey with paths marked by centuries-old conflicts and divisions, her idea developed into an exemplary art project which touches current and urgent social and political problems worldwide such as xenophobia, exclusion, boarders, personal and national identities, history and rememberance.

The exhibition of the project will take place in various countries of the Balkan region as well as in Berlin.

Do you also believe that art has the power to make a change in the world? Then become a part of this project and support Ines Kotarac with a donation!
