Help families and NGO's from Immigration Nation

Immigration Nation is a 6-part Netflix documentary series that takes a close look at the swelling immigration crisis in the United States.

The series, created by Shaul Schwarz and Christina Clusiau, follows the stories of several undocumented immigrants in the U.S. as well as some who have been deported, and conducts in-depth interview with migrants, Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, immigration lawyers and activists in order to convey the magnitude of the crisis at hand.

The makers of the show seek to do more than to raise awareness of the issue, and have launched a Go Fund Me campaign that would funnel funds directly to individuals and organisations featured in the series.

In the case of individual immigrants and migrants, funds raised will be used to pay for legal fees needed to help them adjust their status, fight deportation proceedings, and reunite with family members they were separated from.

Money raised by the Go Fund Me campaign will also be allocated to grassroots organisations featured in the series that take local action to advocate on behalf of migrants, hold government agencies and officials accountable for violating their human rights, prevent their deportation, and reunite them with family members.

Among the initiatives supported is the Keep Tucson Together (KTT) project, which was created by the NGO No More Deaths. For the past nine years, KTT has been working with volunteer attorneys to stop deportation proceedings and family separations in Southern Arizona.

Visit the Immigration Nation Resources website to read about the individual stories of migrants featured in the series and get acquainted with the various organisations they now seek to support.
