PRIVACY POLICY

The operator of this website and responsible for the collection, processing and use of your personal data within the scope of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG) is FAIRPLANET gGmbH, Straßburger Straße 40, 10405 Berlin.

We use your data in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations. This data protection declaration informs you which of your personal data we collect and store. You will also receive information on how your data is used and what rights you have with regard to the use of your data

1. Collection and storage of personal data as well as type and purpose of their use

a. When visiting our website

Whenever you visit our website, your browser automatically sends information to the server of our website and temporarily stores these in a so-called log file. The following files are recorded without your intervention and stored until they are automatically deleted:

  • the IP address of the requesting computer,
  • the date and time of the access,
  • the name and the URL of the requested data or file,
  • the website from which access was made,
  • the operating system of your computer as well as the browser you use,
  • the name of your internet access provider.

This data is collected and processed for the purpose of enabling the use of our website (connection establishment), to permanently guarantee system security and stability, to enable the technical administration of the network infrastructure and the optimisation of our online offer, as well as for internal statistical purposes. The IP address is only evaluated in the event of attacks on the network infrastructure and for statistical purposes, without the possibility of drawing conclusions about your personal identity.

Furthermore, we use cookies and Google Analytics when you visit our website. Please see sections 4 and 5 of these data protection provisions for more information.

b. When subscribing to our newsletter

  1. We use the so-called double-opt-in procedure for the subscription to our newsletter. This means that after entering your e-mail address, we will send you a confirmation e-mail to the address you entered, in which we ask you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. If you confirm your wish to receive the newsletter, we will store your e-mail address on the servers of our newsletter service provider MailChimp, The Rocket Science Group, LLC 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE Suite 5000 Atlanta, GA 30308 USA until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. The storage is solely for the purpose of sending you the newsletter. Furthermore, we store your IP address and the time of registration and confirmation in order to prevent abuse of your personal data.
  2. The only compulsory information for sending the newsletter is an e-mail address. The provision of further, separately marked details is voluntary and is used solely for the personalisation of the newsletter. This data will be completely deleted upon request.
  3. You can revoke your consent to the sending of the newsletter at any time. You can revoke your consent by clicking on the link provided in each newsletter e-mail. You can also cancel the newsletter at any time by sending an e-mail to newsletter@fairplanet.org. Your data will not
be passed on to third parties.
  4. The FAIRPLANET newsletter contains editorial content from our website or links to other sites. If these contain advertising contributions/advertisements, these are marked accordingly. Such advertisements may contain links to external websites of third parties over whose content we have no control or influence. Therefore, we cannot assume any liability for these external contents. The respective provider or operator of the external sites is always liable
for the contents of the linked sites. The linked pages were checked for possible legal violations at the time of linking. Illegal contents were not identifiable at the time of linking. However, a permanent control of the contents of the linked pages is not feasible as long as there is no concrete evidence of a violation of the law. If we become aware of any infringements, we will remove such links as timely as possible.
  5. The consent given by you has the following wording: We would like to point out that we will evaluate your user behaviour when sending the newsletter. For this evaluation, the e-mails sent contain so-called web beacons, also called tracking pixels. These are one-pixel image files that link to our websites and thus enable us to evaluate your user behaviour. This is done by collecting the data mentioned in § 1a as well as by web beacons, which are assigned to your e-mail address and linked to your own ID. Links received in the newsletter also contain this ID. The information collected in this way is stored on the servers of our newsletter service provider MailChimp. You can find more information on this at: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/

2. Transfer of your data to third parties

We will only pass on your personal data if you have expressly consented to this, if there is a legal obligation to do so, or if this is necessary to enforce our rights, in particular to enforce claims arising
from a contractual relationship with you.

3. Information, correction, restriction and deletion of your data

You have a right to information regarding the personal data stored about you, a right to correct incorrect data as well as to block and delete them. Please send us an e-mail for this purpose and/or in case of further questions about the use of your personal data to contact@fairplanet.org.

4. Cookies

5. Google Analytics

For the demand-oriented design as well as the continuous optimisation of our website, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). In this context, pseudonymised user profiles are created and cookies (see section 4) are used. The information on your usage of our website generated by the cookie, such as

Under no circumstances will Google link your IP address to other Google data. Moreover, the IP addresses are anonymised so that an attribution is not possible (IP masking). You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser software accordingly (see section 4). However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of our website to their full extent. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of our website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing a browser add-on.

5. Data security

We make use of appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved, in accordance with technological development.

6. Updates and changes to this privacy policy

This data protection declaration is currently valid since its last amendment in May 2018. Due to the further development of our website or due to changes in legal or other official requirements, it may become necessary to amend this data protection declaration. The currently valid data
protection declaration can be accessed here at any time.
